That was a great day for me. All is still good!

And to Kim - I hope yours is forthcoming soon. I know exactly how you feel.

Well - just thought I'd put that out there.

    Congrats!

I have a staghorn kidney stone and no medical insurance so having to wait things out. Doctors wanted to operate in 2001 and I could have had the surgery free but the hospital was over 200 miles from home and I had no way to get back and forth at the time.

Great news for you to share, Tim. Looks like we'll be putting up with Kim for many long decades here. I can live with that.

WOW! From what I have heard, YOU ARE LUCKY! As many here know, I got a mechanical valve in my heart a while ago. WHY mechanical? I actually asked the doctor. He said I was too young for a tissue valve since they are expected to last about 6 years. When I went to a support forum to see how people were doing and all, one person was complaining because she had THREE operations. One about every 6 years, to replace HER valve. I think there might have been as much as a year difference, but it seemed like clockwork. And Kim said, as I recall, artificial kidneys were the same.

Who knows, water heaters are often guaranteed for 6 years, and often start to breakdown around that time, but THAT is because people don't replace the sacrificial anode. I really hope you are either a VERY close match, and lucky in that way, or just doing something right.

    Anyway, GOOD LUCK!

    Steve
