What is your worst nightmare or bad dream?

As an adult I really don't have nightmares... But when I was a teenager growing up in Colorado I had a bad dream that still haunts me to this day. I dreamt that there was a huge tidal wave coming over the rocky mountains.

To get a feel for this dream, you really have to have a good mental picture of what the front range of the Rockies look like from Denver. This wave was three times the height of the Rockies, which meant it was 50-60 thousand feet high.

In the dream when I saw the tidal wave I said to myself "We're all dead and this is the end of the world."

Nothing complex, but it really scared me and has been with me all my life since...

      I posted one here before: I dreamed I was making out with ninety something year old Nancy Reagan. The bad part is that the dream wasn't a nightmare or "bad dream". It was very enjoyable! Now, that is scary!

    I have had lots of nightmares and the same ones reoccur over the years.

    I think the worst one is where I keep going back to when my son was a little baby and I can't find him - it is really a horrible feeling to think a baby is out there somewhere and you don't know where.

    He is an adult now and I know where he is at, and when I wake up and realize that, it is really a happy time!

      Nightmares can sometimes help us appreciate what we have when we wake up.

        When I first got my bike I had a re-occurring nightmare that I parked it in downtown Albany and then I couldn't find it.
        To this day (6 years later) I haven't rode or parked my bike in Albany and it's only 10 miles from here.

    I dreamed i jumped off an aeroplane, when i pulled the string for parachute, i realised i didn't have it :s, luckily i survived as i woke up before i was about to fall on the ground, the experience was awesome!!

    Yikes Kurt. Um....could you keep your nightmares just a tad more personally destructive and leave the rest of us out of them?

    I get whole stories, so not easy to tell them. I've had dreams with hacked up people in them. Those are upsetting. Used to have falling elevator dreams and took up lucid dreaming to get rid of them. One night I was able to stop the elevator and get out and that was the last of them.

        Close to it when I got in. :p It was the 4th floor when I got out and took the stairs down. Serious. If I hadn't figured out how to stop it in a few more seconds I would have had to have another dream to get it sussed. -

    It would probably be this one dream where a Witch of some sort was chasing me and I did have another dream where I got shot and fell off a building. Don't ask me why I had those dreams!
