OFF TOPIC

On March 30, 2011, our song is going to be judged in the Great American
Song Contest.

I should get the results sometime in the middle of April along with the other
9 songs I entered.

I'll be posting the results, one day at a time, from the worst entrant to the
best.

It's going to be a fun 10 days.

Where will "Freeze" wind up?

Will it win an award?

Will it be my best entrant?

Will it be my worst entrant?

Tune in some time in April for the thrilling countdown.

Oh...music. I thought you were saying the world was ending in 15 days.
Hmmm - maybe, eh? Well, not the end of the world but it sure might keep me from ever endeavoring to create lyrics again.

Thanks for the heads up Steve - this is one contest I'll be interested in seeing the results of.

Thanks everyone. This is going to be of extreme interest for me.

This whole thing was prompted by that endless "last post prize" thread. When the OP disappeared we all started making prizes of our own. Steve was giving special gifts and I thought we should return the favor so I offered to write an article for him. He replied - and I'm not sure if this was just flippant or serious - that he'd rather have lyrics.

Well, I have never written lyrics but I gave it a try and he was actually able to put the stew I gave him into a song. It ended up being a different type of song than he'd ever written so it was an exciting challenge for him and it was extremely exciting for me to hear my words put to music after decades of business writing.

So all in all -- we're real curious what will happen with this one.
