hi all,

i posted a thread in the im discussion section, requesting a few people to review a new product i am creating as a wso, it got a couple of replies, then when i went back to check it, it has disappeared.

Does anyone know what might have happened?

thanks

    Yep. I deleted it.

Main discussion is not the place to do product research and pre-promotion. I delete a couple of those types of threads every day.

ok, thanks, i understand your reasons for deleting the thread, but could you please tell me where i can ask for a couple of people to read through my product and give me their views.
I would like a couple of people to read it efore i release it, just to check that its of an acceptable standard as there seems to be a lot of products that are not recently

    thanks

You can post a request for reviews in the Internet Product Reviews sub-forum.

If you're willing to pay someone to read the product and provide feedback, you can put an ad in the Wanted - Members Looking to Hire sub-forum. I am not suggesting that you pay for a review - you are paying for a critical eye and constructive feedback to make sure your product is of an acceptable standard, as you put it.

If you're feeling brave, you can ask individual Warriors if they would be willing to look at your product. Be warned that most will ignore you, some will report your request as spam, some will turn you down in a polite way, and one or two may do you this favor.

You can also put a note in your signature asking for people to review your product.

        a17ddt,

See Gail's note. She's summed it up nicely.

Best bet - ask for reviews in the review section Put a limit on the number of copies, and make sure you specify that you want established members with some minimum number of posts. I'd say at least 300-500, and members for at least a year. That will cut down on the number of people who do nothing but ask for review copies and never bother actually telling you what they think of the product.

It has probably been years since I've asked anybody to review a product of
mine, but let me give you a piece of advice from when I did used to ask for
        reviews.

As with anything in this business, you have to keep in mind one thing...

"What's in it for the reviewer?"

This becomes a double edged sword.

New folks, the ones who are most likely to get something out of your product,
will be the least likely to actually give the review...especially the ones who
come off as being just a little too eager to get a hold of your product.

The folks who have been at this a while, more likely than not will either
be too busy to even respond to your request OR...will expect something
in return for their time other than the product itself. I am speaking from
personal experience here so your experience may differ.

We all have a lot of things competing for our attention and there are only
so many hours in the day. That is why I now have a standing policy that
unless you're a personal business acquaintance, I don't review products
anymore. I just don't have the time.

One exception...and this is where you have to figure out where the need
for your product is....if I really feel it is something I can not only use but
will greatly help me with my business.

In my case, that would probably be something that will help me automate
a process in my business so as to save me time. For me, saving time is
my most precious commodity. If you have a product that will save me a lot
of time doing something I do regularly, I will probably review it.

If it's just another "how to make money online" product, probably not. I
already have more than I need in that area.

Find out where the need for your product is and go there.

Then...look for people who are really serious about what they're doing.

In a forum, that would probably be the people who contribute the most,
though it's always possible to find some new person who is going to be
        the next Frank Kern.

But simply giving somebody a copy of your product free, is not going to
be enough incentive for most people who will provide the highest
probability of you getting your product reviewed.

That's the reality of this business. I cannot tell you how many times I've
been disappointed by people who promised a review.

Oh, and one other thing. Don't ask for a testimonial. Ask for an honest
review. Most people don't know how to give testimonials and the ones
they give are worthless. Stuff like, "Great product...5 stars" you can
toss in the trash. You need something with substance.

Suggestion...include a list of questions for the reviewer to answer along
with the product. After they answer them, put them together in
testimonial form and then send your compilation to the reviewer for his
or her approval. That will help you get a testimonial that you can
        actually use.

Hope this has been of some help to you.

Thanks to the other posts here as well, all usefull advice that i will consider while im finishing my product

I whined, and got deleted, and whined again and got banned... I figure Paul was just putting me in the whine cellars to settle a bit to chill and and get some maturity... because I came out more seasoned and better than ever.

He's kind of the whine wizard... keep whining you'll see, you'll get the "cellar", but dont worry, you'll come out a better man/woman... a finer whine.
