Man dies while trying to revive dead wife

JOYCE -- A Joyce man died Wednesday evening while apparently trying to save his wife's life with CPR after she collapsed, the Clallam County Sheriff's Office said Thursday.

The 60-year-old man, who phoned 9-1-1 at 9:49 p.m. to report that his wife had a heart attack, was found slumped over her body when medics and deputies arrived at the home no more than eight minutes later, Sgt. John Keegan said.

Neither could be revived. The woman was 59.

Keegan declined to identify the couple, saying he didn't know if family members had been notified.

Keegan said that the man died of natural causes, possibly a heart attack.

He was apparently performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation on his wife when he died, according to the Sheriff's Office.

Keegan called the incident strange but said no foul play is suspected.

"Usually events like this don't happen in pairs," he said.

The couple lived near Milepost 52 on state Highway 112 about 10 miles west of the junction with U.S. Highway 101.

    Very romantic - even poetic.

    ... and not even that.

wow.. just wow... I guess he must have panicked while trying to revive her.
It really sad, but sort of romantic too.
I wish them both a happy ever after together and will think of their families tonight.

Well, if he LOVED her, he may have had lonliness, panic, and maybe anger, hit him all at once. With the added exertion of trying to revive her, which would be exacerbated by the rest, I could see it happening.

That said though, I would STILL check the air and what they had done in the last 24 hours. There COULD be another factor.

My great grandmother collapsed at my great grandfather's funeral and died two days later. She always said that she'd rather die first than outlive him.

My mother has outlived my father, and it is an ongoing struggle for her to cope without him. My wife in all likelihood will outlive me (...if so, I think she'll do just fine)

This is what you may called a LOVE STORY. Imagine even death has nothing to do in their love with each other. Till death they do not apart.
