SeaFair The Mega Yacht Venue

<Runs off to get roll of paper towel to wipe drool off keyboard...>

SeaFair is the world's first mobile megayacht venue and the fourth largest privately owned yacht in the United States. Groundbreaking in scale, ingenuity and style, the yacht - which remains dockside during each event - pairs international fine art, jewelry and collectables with harbor view dining and special events in cities along the eastern seaboard.

Man, you said it. I wonder how much the insurance premium is though! But the idea of taking your store to customers you KNOW can, and likely will, pay, traveling the US, and meeting people all over, DOES sound nice. He may even be part owner in some of the companies he recommends, and you can bet he gets kick backs from others.

And I'm not sure how this aspect works, but it may EVEN lower his cost by not being docked as much as he otherwise would be. Not to mention that he could turn a few million profit at each stop.

Apparently this floating art gallery cost about 40 million to build and about $30,000 a month to operate.

Potential income is estimated to be $300,000+ a month. (Ticket sales, gallery rentals, and art sales, jewellery sales, tours, restaurant, etc.)

The owner's business concept is based on finding wealthy clientele and taking high-class, prestigious products and services to them. Since many of the world's wealthiest people in or near in coastal areas throughout the world, he's got a hungry market right at the dock!

I'm with Steve on this one...the insurance was the first thing to come to mind.
Just the yacht alone, let alone all that 'cargo'...kind of makes it a pirates wet dream.
I get to see quite a few of the worlds yachts here in San Dog, it's been a life long love affair with yachts and ships.

A couple of years ago the biggest sail yacht in the world was here, complete with a helo, elevators, grand piano's etc...but this is one I would really like to see, if even from a distance.

Thanks for the post. I will keep an eye on the horizon.

        Jim
