Yikes! Lucky Escape For Tsunami Survivors...

Well, a lucky escape for 9 of them, that is; apparently, 21 other people who sought refuge on the same roof were washed away.

These pictures were taken in Minamisanriku, a small resort town in northern Japan. Physically, 95% of the town was destroyed, and about half the population are still missing.

(Note the white building in the background: that's water gushing out of the 4th storey. )

    ok can put fair enough that 9 were indeed lucky because they lived but i dont see them as lucky,theyve probably lost a lot of family and friends in this tragedy.
    Those poor poor people,can you even imagine that happening to our countries.
    My heart goes out to all in japan at this time.

    Yeah - I think of this type of thing every time I think of San Fransisco, Vancouver Island, and Hawaii. So many people living in areas dominated by the power of the sea. I'm just glad I'm a mountain goat instead of a water lover.

    This type of destruction is just surreal.
