    Um....Guy - we are INSIDE of a magnetic polar shift at the time. No we're not all gonna die. Shifts happen around every 150 years or so. It's not that big a deal other than we're going to have more storms for awhile because the crust is shifting.

    This kind of trash is completely whacked when there's real science that you can read that explains it all without any hype and fear garbage to go with it. Good grief.

        The only reason the poles are shifting is because Americans are becoming evermore obese and their aggregate weight is causing havoc with the underlying glue layers that hold North America from slipping down to the equator.

        So the poles are having to exert additional pull to counteract the slippage and hence are getting their positions modified as they struggle to keep up with more and more fast food joints opening up and exacerbating the problem.

        Everybody knows that...

      Amazing.... I read that thread and saw facinating probabilities and possibilities, along with some wildly entertaining perspectives.

      You saw "fear and hype".

      Says a lot about how you observe life, I would imagine. On the plus side, it's good to know that thar's scientifical thinkin' folk like you here to set us moronions straight when the in-uh-net stears us astray.

        Wasn't trying to insult you - there are some interesting things there, but, there is so much slam on pole shifts that I think it's important that people know what is actually up with those on a scientific level. We are in one, and it's not going to "take us down". I wasn't necessarily ditching your link - the "hype and fear" is all over the internet, so anyone that sees "pole shift" is automatically freaked out any more. Just clarifying. As far as your link, it's worth a browse.

        BTW - if it helps you to understand my point of view - I do not believe in coincidences. Nuff said, eh?
