What has happened to customer service?

I don't mean to sound like an old man complaining about today's generation (mostly because I do not consider myself old jaja) but I have noticed how customer service personnel do not seem value customer's as human beings anymore. It seems rather combative nowadays. No one seems to care about taking care of a customer these days in a courteous and friendly manner.

    To some degree that is also a function of people no longer wanting to take personal responsibility for their own blunderous purchases anymore. So CS departments get calls they never should have to take in the first place and it wears them out.

    But for the most part I agree with you.
