Does Anyone Still Watch The Apprentice?

I was wondering does anyone still watch the Apprentice? I liked it until they started putting celebrities on it. All they seem to do is fight and argue with each other, in the name of charity.

The Donald seems to like baiting them into arguing with each other. He's always asking them who the weakest player is and watching the reactions. But that's just my 5 cents.

I watch it, only because I love seeing a celebrity, that has spent years surrounded by "yes" men, get told no - or even "you're fired".

I like it better with the celebs - it's good to see how they stratagize. I like Trump - but NOT for President!!!!

I used to, but the (IMHO) unmitigated sleaziness of the host has forced me to stop watching.

Yes, I watched it. Some days ago I wanted to watch it again but I couldn't find it.

I love how they do the business, do the job, very fast, efficient, professional, can work under pressure, very strong, ... and profitable.

I watched it just to motivate myself, find a figure to follow.

I have been watching this show since it started.

To be honest, I like the celebrity apprentice more then the others. It is much more interesting to see celebrities fight and argue with each other.

There was one season when I though that Gene Simmons should have won.

Trump is great and I like it when he puts 2 or more celebrities together and makes them fight with each other.

By the way, that guy Gary who was sent home last Sunday, that guy is CRAZY.

Only watched it once. Didn't care for it. From the sounds of things I might be watching a live version on C-span in a few years. Unbelievable.

I used to watch it years ago when it first started. I watched the first couple seasons. It was a good show, but it gets old after a while. The business related show that I like to watch often now is Shark Tank. I would recommend that you watch that show if you haven't seen it before.

I enjoy watching the Celebrity Apprentice although the bickering does get old. However, the implementation of the tasks is interesting.

For example, this Sunday they had to create a brochure for Trump Hotels. Since my background is in hotel marketing, I was really curious to see what they came up with.

Both teams did an awful job!

Not to mention that I get surprised ever so often. I assumed that Latoya Jackson would be a complete waste of space and she turned out to be pretty good.

I still watch it. However, I liked it more when it focused on solid business strategies and non-celebrity contestants.

On the other hand, I understand the entertainment factor, but this season has way too much drama. I'm predicting a ratings decrease.

      Interestingly enough, ratings have increased:

Donald Trump's Birther Antics And Meat Loaf's Epic Freakout Carry "Celebrity Apprentice" To Ratings High

Whether it's for the drama on the show or because of his presidential bid, people are still tuning in.

His recent marketing blitz has worked for the show but his personal brand has suffered as evidenced by his recent removal from the Indy 500.

I occasionally watch the last 10 minutes - that's the cat fights, blame games and firing. If there was anything interesting it usually gets mentioned or re-shown near the end. Have never watched it all the way through - boooooring.

    Newsflash!

Playing the presidential card has paid off for Donald Trump.

The real-estate mogul and reality-TV host -- who kept viewers and the NBC network guessing until the last minute whether he would make a serious run at the Oval Office --

---got a sizeable pay raise to renew his contract to host "The Celebrity Apprentice" for another two years.

NBC Universal, which was acquired by cable-TV giant Comcast this year, agreed to pay Trump and co-producer Mark Burnett an estimated $160 million over two years, according to sources familiar with the contract.

        True.

And his negatives have gone way up also, but I guess he knew there was a chance that that could happen all along.

His name has now become synonymous with sleazy and/or scumbag in the minds of many Americans.

I think it was a setup all along by him and NBC. Because if you look at his past record before this election cycle, he's clearly a liberal. And he was actually a registered Democrat during the Bush years.

It was clearly a business deal on the part of him and NBC - NBC wanted to bring the birther issue to the forefront and no Republican at the time would touch it. Donald needed some ratings. It was a match made in heaven. MSNBC let their pundits go on about "firing Donald Trump" because they knew it was a ruse. And now he's getting a raise - Whodathunkit?

      You said...

NBC wanted to bring the birther issue to the forefront and no Republican at the time would touch it.

      huh????????????????????

IMHO, a much better description of what happened was Mr. Trump - with the blessings of NBC, used the birther issue to generate publicity for another fake presidential run in order to boost his public profile and of course the show's profile.

The strategy worked like a charm but there was a personal price that is being paid by Mr. Trump.

      Items:

      - The folks at the Indy 500 asked him to step down as an honorary chairman etc.

      - Jerry Sienfield backs out of a fundraiser sponsored by Trump's son.

      - Robert Denero goes ballistic on him.

      - He was the star at the latest WH correspondents' dinner in a very bad way.

      - He now has many, many more people in this country that personally do not like him that he didn't have before and his name is now associated with other well known racial provocateurs and with someone that will do anything for publicity etc.

Because of his ego, I don't think he expected as much blowback as he received and will receive for the rest of his life.

And yet NBC gives him a raise...

as they say, the proof is in the pudding. If anyone knows how bad publicity works, it's Donald Trump. And it worked like a charm. Don't you think that it's a strange coincidence that there's controversy every year surrounding the Miss Universe, USA, Teen USA pageants?

He also knows better than most, that the American public has a very short memory. After all he did get most of them to forget that just a couple of years ago he was a devout Democrat. And after another season of The Apprentice, and an election cycle of everyone else beating up on Obama, not many Americans will remember his "birther" debacle.

          All he proved was...

... that someone well known, can appeal to and use the lowest impulses in some of the American people to get (further) ahead.

There's plenty of proof of that - all over the airwaves.

He won as far as keeping his show and getting a raise but I doubt If a large sector of the American public will ever forgive him for his sleezefest.

I think the damage is irreparable and will haunt him for the rest of his days.

          But time will tell.

His favorability ratings are in the tank but the market is so large that 2/3 or more of the public can think of you as a super sleezbag and you can still have a successful network show.

I hear his pay from the show is the only thing keeping him afloat and that's why he did what he did.

But that's just something I heard.
