I grew up in an era of such incredible music.

My friend Peanut Head just sent me a whole ton of YouTube videos to listen
to because that's what he does, God bless his soul.

Anyway, I'm just looking through the titles and realizing how fortunate I am
to have been able to live during the era of some of the greatest music ever
made, at least as far as rock and pop go.

Just some of the tunes:

Tuesday Afternoon - Moody Blues
Ride My See-Saw - Moody Blues
Timeless - Badfinger
The Right Time - Natural Gas (Joey Molland from Badfinger was in that group)
I'll Have To Go Away - Skylark
Saw A New Morning - Bee Gees
Good Feelin' To Know - Poco
Taxi - Harry Chapin
WOLD - Harry Chapin

Over 40 years of music flashing before my eyes in the span of less than a
half hour.

And I lived through all of it and more. Hell, I remember the first time I heard
"The Martian Hop" back in the early, early 60s.

And who can forget Debbie Reynolds' "Tammy?"

Okay, I better go before I start blubbering like a little girl.
  • Wow! At last check I had over 40,000 tunes in my collection, and the only 2 of those I've heard are 'Taxi' and 'Tammy'. I'm familiar with the bands/artists, though, except for Skylark. That's a new one for me. I have stuff that goes back as far as Billie Holiday, Scott Joplin and Beethoven.

    Isn't life good
I agree with the Steve. Music wise I can't think of a better time to be alive then through the 50's, 60's and 70's.
Starting around 58 my next door neighbor would babysit me (I was 5 then).
He like 2 things Rock and Roll and stock car racing. Every evening he'd bring over his record player and records and every weekend he'd take me to the stock car races.

I hope he's not nuts. (Hehe)

Seriously though, you are lucky Steven. Much of today's music doesn't even compare.

One of these days when my step dad passes away, which I dont look forward to Im gonna have a collection of about 1000 old 60's and 70's lps and 8 track s and black light posters... and Im sure theres a big fat stash in ther somewhere too...He still has the big cheech and chong paper in the album cover.

He's a funny guy, there are things that he stands for soo enthusiastically, guess that apple fell right on my head...and one of the things that "Jack" stands for is "The summer of Love" and all that comes with it... he still acts like he just got back from woodstock yesterday! lol

This post reminded me of him for a moment.

  • I've always heard, "Anyone who says they remember Woodstock, obviously wasn't there."

I still have the Big Bambu album, myself, giant paper still intact.
