Duct Tape Festival
There is going to be a huge Heritage Duct Tape Festival in Avon, OH, from June 17th-19th. Apparently, Avon is the 'duct tape capital of the world' because it is the home of Duck Tape brand duct tape (which is actually a cheap imitation of the original, but don't tell them I said that!).
It says festival-goers will be entertained with a unique display of retro-themed sculptures, fashions created with duct tape and even a parade. It is being billed as a "free, three-day psychedelic celebration of all things duct tape".
Who da thunk? Obviously these people have way too much time on their hands. :p
In a somewhat related topic, I jokingly made a comment to a friend years ago that I was going to write a book entitled, "1001 Uses for Duct Tape". Less than a year later, I actually saw a book with the same title on book shelves. Taught me a lesson about moving forward quickly on good ideas.
