Sometimes Even I Can't Explain This Business

I have many lists. Most of them get about 2 to 5 opt ins per day. Not a ton, but
they're consistent and they add up over time.

Yesterday, one of my lists, one that I really don't do much promotion for
anymore, got 18 opt ins. I thought there was something wrong with my
autoresponder.

I went to my AWStats to check to see where they were coming from (most
came from email opens) and try to determine what could have been causing
this.

No clue.

I didn't do any special emails to my MMO leads (I get them from the same
sources each day) that should have resulted in the spike, not when this
list has been consistently behaving at 2 to 5 opt ins each day for years.

It didn't make any sense.

It still doesn't.

And the trend seems to be continuing today, though at not as fast a pace.

Something has changed somewhere. I haven't written any new articles in
weeks (yeah, I've been really slacking) or done anything to cause this.

In fact, my opt ins should be decreasing because of the lack of work that
I've been doing. But they're not.

Again...no clue.

Not complaining mind you. Just pointing out that not everything can be
explained away. Sometimes we don't have the answers for things no matter
how much testing and tracking we do.

Sometimes...things just happen.
