I'm Immature?

Ok, somewhere, someone, somehow reminded me of a story tonight, and I figured I'd share it with you guys.

Because I like you guys and you usually have some fun comments when I post stuff.

OK, Here it goes.

For those of you who live in South Dakota, Colorado, New Mexico, Nevada, Wyoming, and some other state, you may know what I am talking about when I describe the job I was with. Bear with me. Bare? Bear.

Ok, a couple months back, I worked for this Portrait company called Andre Michaels. I was part of the sales team who went all over, to Safeways, Big Lots, and Malls.

What I did, was stand around for 8+ hours by a little stand, and when people walked into these stores, I got their attention, which I was trained to do in the rudest way possible I'll imagine.

Think of it like this.

You're going into a grocery store, one thats rather expensive, but you know they have the best meat and usually the 5/5 deals in the frozen dinner section is pretty good. You're not thinking at all about anything other than the crap you need.

You walk in the door.

There are two very nicely dressed people standing by the front door, almost in front of it.

One immediately says, "Miss/Sir, come over here." And out of politeness you step over.

Now, here is where my usual partner and I differed. I usually said please, as it adds a nice ring to it. But once he got someone over, he kinda just went through the steps, but he was often prone to answering his phone, texts, or paying attention to the young girls who walked in.

He lost LOTS of sales because they got tired of him ignoring them for other things.

Whereas I gave my full attention to the person in front of me who was obviously visibly irritated that I had called them over. They were even more irritated that they had to pay $10 for a photoshoot. But I got them, even though I hated the job.

I've since quit.

Heres the odd part. On more than one occation while I was still working there, my partner called ME immature.

Simply because with some of my customers/leads, I managed to talk video games with them.

I love video games. They're what drove me into the 3-D creating world. Theres an abundance of jobs in that market, and I've yet to hear of any animation/game company going for broke in this recession.

I can't help but wonder, why he said that, when his hobbies include drinking, drinking, driving his expensive truck that his parents bought him around, getting with girls, girls, girls, girls, and never being able to NOT go without sex for more than two days.

So. My question folks, who is more immature?

Me, a geeky 3-D animator who loves to play video games and read books?

Or the sex-crazed alcoholic who ignores his potentials?

Any stories or funness in the answer is greatly appreciated and encouraged.
