My friend tried editing a theme for me, links in the footer to be more specific and now I cannot login into the dashboard or view the website. I'm actually logged out!

Is there anything I can do to get logged back in?

Do you mean you need to know the usual way of getting to a wordpress admin panel? If so,
    example.com/wp-admin
    username
    password

If you don't know your username, password, or email you used to create the wordpress site, then that could be a problem. You'll need to contact the person who set it up. If you can't contact that person, you can download the database, change the email, then reload the database.

If you take a look at the image I posted, you can see that when I type www.gamerzville.com/wp-admin, I get the following message:

This theme is sponsored, all links in the footer should remain intact

Therefor I am unable to login.

That is screwy. You could try replace footer.php with the original one to restore the links that were changed. If that doesn't work should move that theme to another folder, so the default theme kicks in. Did you pay that person who edited your theme? In any case, from what you're saying that theme sounds like bad news to me.

Please believe me, you want to DELETE your theme if acting like this!! Using an FTP client go to wp-content/themes folder and delete your theme. You should re-upload the latest WordPress version and rewrite all files. You will not loose any of your post doing so.

If your theme is not allowing you to access wp-admin because of removing their sponsored links it is very possible that something else is injected as well. I develop for WordPress for years and saw some nasty things.

It might be pretty, but you need to delete that theme...

You got locked out after editing the footer? And are still locked out even after deleting the theme? That's strange. What is the name of this nasty theme? You might need to delete the drop the database tables, then reinstall wordpress.

Before you do that, try to ftp a fresh version of the theme. It might "reset" something you did. If it works, change to a different theme and then delete the offending theme. I don't know if this will work, but it's worth a shot before you start dumping tables and/or databases.

Raising a child is akin to knowing you're getting fired in 18 years and having to train your replacement without actively sabotaging them.

You can try Dan Riffle's suggestion. If not, you could save the database, reinstall wordpress than just add the posts section of the database to the new database installation.
