When the baby had a little temper tantrum, I said to my wife, "He's got your temper." Not good.

If you can't joke with your wife like that then I am sorry. She should've known it was a joke. . . My plan is to marry a woman with a sense of humor.

I just realized that that sounded bad. It wasn't meant to down you or your wife. I was just stating that that would bother ME.

Yeah, that sounded kind of bad, but this is Internet and I've been subjected to worse online. As forums go, this is one of the least abusive I've participated in (eg, writers' forums get uniquely nasty and full of ad hominem attacks, I've found). Anyway, my wife is very sensitive (and highly intelligent), but actually has a great sense of humor. Most people have topics to which they are sensitive, that are best avoided even if it might seem innocuous to an outsider.

  • She got mad because you implied she had a bad temper? Sounds like maybe she does. Good luck, though. That's one of the many reasons I am NOT married anymore.

Um..........it doesn't have anything to do with WF - you missed something. This is purely a WTF topic.

Yeah, I get that. And there's also the point that some people may have a great sense of humor but based on a stressful circumstance may get angry, even if it's out of character.

Dude, come on. Your wife should be able to take a joke. Even if it goes over badly, stay unapologetic and act like she's in the wrong for getting mad..

Oh, boy! I'm assuming you aren't married? Sometimes it's better to just swallow your pride and take the blow. You need to pick your fights wisely. What's a little "I'm sorry" whether you mean it or not?

Thank God you're not a Sultan with 70 wifes. Otherwise the world would be ruined in 4 generations.

People make good money selling to the rich. But the rich got rich selling to the masses.

You obviously haven't met my daughter. 2 years old, red hair, tantrums. It's H.E.L.L. in my house right now haha

Something like that wouldn't upset me much but my husband makes comments like "You have you mother's temper." That one upsets me. I guess everyone has something they are sensitive about. Normally I can take a joke but I'm not a fan of being compared to my mother. I love her dearly, but she drives me crazy. lol
