Here is a graveyard in my way when I am coming to office and I was seeing that there is a new grave there waiting for some one to come and relax.

I wish to God that I should have a peaceful life here and here after death.

If you have a sinful life then certainly you will have a painful life in grave else you will have peaceful life in the grave as well.

  • Unfortunately, death is a natural part of life. All we can do is make the best of the time in-between. So no, I'm not afraid to die. I think I've done all I NEEDED to do in this life.

I am pretty much in agreement with Steven.
At the same time I do not want to die though in the past few years there have been numerous times I have come very close.
Some days I feel that if it happens I can accept it,but other days I am most definitely afraid to die.

As Kim knows last week I spent my birthday in the hospital with Pericardial effusion. Defiantly made the top 2 list of most pain I've experienced. The first night I thought I was having a major heart attack and figured it was the end. I wasn't afraid, but I sure was pissed. If I was afraid to die, I wouldn't of lived my life the way I did.
So I agree with Steve and Kim, there are far worse things then dying.

I don't worry about death. We cross to somewhere we can't see or know and that upsets some people.

All I ask is that when my time comes that I am granted the dignity of either meeting the end in the commission of a noble act of bravery or let me just close my eyes and slide out the back door without notice. Don't humiliate the message of my life by putting me in captivity to a power that kills for whim.

Eew, you're right, it turns out. I wasn't invited. And those of us not invited get to face 5 months' turmoil, apparently (and I thought I'd had mine already). On a brighter note, though, it seems I was a little premature: the end of the world itself, apparently, isn't until October.

I am surprised that most here do not seem to be afraid of dying. I can understand this, especially after seeing people who are terminally. "there are far worse things than dying.".

But there are no guarrantees that death will release you from pain, it may just continue in the next life. In fact, there are millions of possible things that may happen in the next life that can you it literally hell. That is, if there is an afterlife.

Moroever, the dead may mourn the living more than the living mourns the dead, as you may not know whehter you will ever be able to meet your loved ones again.

Which makes one wonder if people aren't simply afraid of the unknown and not death itself.
Myself, I've never had a problem with the unknown.
Heck every approaching minute is unknown.
Maybe that's why death doesn't bother me. I see it as an unknown experience. But even though I'm curious as to what the experience is, I see no reason to find out at the present time

I think the issue is that many people believe that when you die, your afterlife will be better than the current one i.e. if you are old, you will be young again, if you are diseased, you will be well again, if you are disabled, you will gain full function. But this is all speculative and a lot of it has to do with one's religious beliefs.

Exactly why there IS religion, Derek.

I died for almost two minutes when I was 16. I was fully functioning mentally and didn't know it happened later. I thought I was conscious. That pretty much settled the issue for me. Not saying I am ready to go or look forward to it. I just am not afraid of it. I'm still in full mode to continue on here as long as possible.

Energy does not die, therefore, we do not die. We leave this earth and turn to pure energy. What that "life" would be like is anyone's guess.

I've had a few experiences that have made me believe, at least in part, that there must be something after. Feeling the physical presence of someone who recently died, for instance. I mean, actually feeling the pressure of the body.

Still, it doesn't stop me from being afraid. But then, I'm afraid of many things that others are not, simply because I'm this anxious personality. A doctor suggesting a minor out-patient surgery is all it takes. The fear is of the pain, the suffering. Those who are afraid of those as well, probably fear dying because they don't know how much pain will be involved.

Now, if we all knew it wouldn't hurt, we probably wouldn't be afraid.

What I can't grasp is that state where your senses (thinking, feeling, seeing, your "being", etc.) are no longer here in this body. How bizarre will THAT feel?

That's my take on it, anyway.
