    I think the reasoning in the article is off base. There may be some truth when it comes to rising salaries in India - but that's not the major reason for returning some outsourcing to the U.S.

    In this economic climate, competition for customers has heated up. Customers in the US do not like calling a service number and trying to understand a strong accent. They do not like knowing the person answering questions is on the other side of the world from the store where they bought a product or service.

    Companies could do this in a flourishing market - but now some companies are hiring US service reps and advertising that fact to potential buyers. It gives them an edge on the competition.

      And might I also add that customers do not liking speaking to someone who has absolutely NO clue about what the product is or what it does, except for what they are reading from 'cue cards'.

      99% of the things they keep suggesting to try I've already done before I called. Just send me to straight to 'tech support', thanks.
