Wanted to post this here as this is just despicable, particularly in this day of high unemployment when people are getting by using their own creative ideas to support their families.

Urban Outfitters Continues Their Grand Tradition Of Ripping Off Designers

  • Now I have to wonder if they'll sue the original artist if she continues to sell 'their' jewelry.

GIVE ME A BREAK! That is NOT a copy! Let's look at the SIMILARITIES, OK?

Similar color? NOPE! SURE, they are both kind of silver, but such colors in jewelry date back HUNDREDS of years, and possibly THOUSANDS! NEXT!

Similar shape? NOPE! SURE, they both SEEM the same, because they follow the APPROXIMATE contours of new york! A concept dating back possibly thousands of years! They don't follow the SAME contours though! NEXT!

Similar heart shape? OK, but this has been around for DECADES, and possibly hundreds of years, maybe THOUSANDS! They aren't in the same position though! NEXT!

Necklace? OK, how long have THOSE been around? NEXT!

Even the SIZE isn't a good indicator! It has to be big enough to show detail and last, and small enough to wear and not look gaudy. For a piece like this, that doesn't leave many choices.

If she REALLY wants to complain, why doesn't she come up with an ORIGINAL idea?

Even the love of/of love/i heart/heart of has been done to death!

What you are seeing is the death of our society. Societies can not survive when the members start feeding off each other and that is what we have come to. If you don't believe it - just watch how many people steal any WSO they can get their filthy mits on rather than paying for them.

It's time to let it all crash and start over.

Looks like it turned into a PR nightmare for UO when Miley Cyrus started tweet to support the boycott so now they've pulled the line and they're "looking into it". Twitter and Social Media to the rescue.

That's great and with a Huff Post article running on Google News, I don't think the PR nightmare is over for them yet. They're big enough to hire their own artists to create their own ideas and designs without ripping off little etsy sellers.

I noticed they under cut them too. In her screenshot she sells her stuff for around $40-$50 and they sold their pendants for $19. I wonder if they mass make them in China? I don't know much about Urban Outfitters.

My nephew makes some beautiful stuff (I'm biased) and I would be bent if they stole his design which he makes and they mass produced it in some sweatshop.

        Here is his store:
