Watchmen Discussion **SPOILERS**

Alright, I just finished reading the graphic novel Watchmen by Alan Moore for the first time a few moments ago...and I know the movie is coming out in a few months (you can view the trailer here), so I wanted to discuss some of the things that went on in the novel before it does, so I can get a better understanding of everything that took place.

First of all, was Rorschach's death really necessary? I mean, come on...he was one of the best and most well-developed characters in the entire story. Not only that, but Jon is the one who kills him! Couldn't he have at least transported him to another planet or something? He didn't have to murder the guy.

Second, what's with the pirate story? Did it have any real point? What exactly happens at the end of it? Did the pirates just want to kill the guy or something?

It was a GREAT read, and had some truly fantastic artwork, but these two things left me scratching my head...and I can't say that Rorschach's death didn't disappoint me greatly.

So, any other fans of the graphic novel want to discuss it?

I just recently gave away my original copies to someone that helped me out of a bad situation.
I told him to sell them when the movies is released,as that is when the market will be the hottest.
I hope he makes a decent amount.
