Photos that are not mine on my computer

I had a hard drive crash, one that I had transferred a lot of photos to from my C: drive. Since the files used to be on the C drive I thought I could recover many of them, which I did.

What I have though are lots of photos that are not mine. They are not professional and don't appear to be from the internet temp files. I have various amateur shots from construction sites around Vegas. I know no one in household took them.

The only thing I can think of is that I purchased the computer as "refurbished". Do you suppose those are from another user that may have owned the computer? That's my best guess. If so... woah!! I wonder what else I could have found had I done the scan when the computer first came to me. Wow.

That's scary. Can you imagine if you had child pornography on it and had to take it in for repair?

No, what's scary is people that get rid of their old computers without physically removing the hard drive.

That blows my mind that anyone would leave a hard drive in a PC that they are trashing or selling.

I hauled off some trash a while back to the local recycling center, they had all kinds of old PCs laying around.

How many folks do you think do their taxes online with a personal computer (a lot). That's lots of personal info.

This has been a weird two weeks for computers... They are starting to make me paranoid honestly. Im half convinced that people can send you links that when clicked enable them to just see into your whole house.

I have been shown some crazy things by brilliant hackers that I wish I didnt know people could do.

Yeah but they only do it when the guy out front in the van texts them that they'll "have fun watching this one".

Same thing happened to me.....nothing really weird about it, some one forgot to wipe the hard drive.

Hell, the family on mine looked so happy, I wanted them to adopted me...

Some people still think when you delete something it's gone.
It isn't, it just allows that 'space' to be overwritten. If it's overwritten even, sometimes you can still get it back.

There is a feature on ccleaner where you can wipe free space...it's a good feature to use to cleanse the remaining fragments of things...IMO
