OFF TOPIC

For dinner, we had hot pot with bean sprouts. . We did add baking soda to the water when we washed the bean sprouts but still, move over Evil Kneval.

Why didn't ya just soak em for a few minutes in hydrogen peroxide if they scare ya? LOL

You live in Vancouver - the problem was in Germany. Doesn't take much to frighten you, huh?

I'm not washing my food with hydrogen peroxide - but I do buy locally grown produce as much as possible.

I'd think the chance of me being ill from a beansprout in the U.S. because "it happened" in Germany is pretty slim. Probably a greater chance that I'd be so focused on food worries I'd walk in front of a bus and get flattened.

I think you'll be OK, just as long as you don't go swimming within 30 minutes after eating the sprouts.

  I followed your advice and went bungee something instead. I can now tell you with certainty that the same principle applies to bungee jumping.
