I'm looking for songs that make things look brighter and better for you.
I'll start off with ohne that makes me want to bouce off the walls (in a good way!) And on top of that it has Tom Jones!

I can't have a thread like this without this song. Call me sappy but I keep thinking when I pass on (which I still hope is a long way away) I'm going to have this song by the man played.

  I need all the help I can get

  When my wife was in the hospital for last time, I would sit with her every night after dinner.
  For some reason this song gave me an incredible amount of strength to be able to do that and not lose it. Even now listening to it before I embed it I feel like I could take on the world with one hand and win.

  This song was written by Bobby Scott and Bob Russell. Despite the fact that Russell was dying from cancer when he wrote it, it remains, for me, one of the greatest life-affirming songs:

  You know usually when we have a music thread I actually have to hold back from posting too much.
  
  Optimistic songs I'm having trouble with...lol..sad.
  
  Country is out, all those cows gettin deee vorced.
  
  I put the Beach Boys Good Vibrations, only thing I could think of. I haven't listened to the Beach Boys in a hundred years.
  
  I think I need a beer...
  
  To get me going, I usually put on some Terrible Ted.

  Doc, I can't stop singing the 'Green Green Grass of Home'. He said: 'That sounds like Tom Jones syndrome'. 'Is it common? I asked. 'It's not unusual' he replied.
  
  I don't know how optimistic it is but since Kim mentioned Tom Jones...I do like the way he did this song.
