Forum email subscription: does it work?

Not sure where I should post this - guess the OT forum is the safest bet.

Could anyone tell me if it is just me or the forum email subscription (I'm referring to the [Forum tools > Subscribe to this forum] function) does not work? I subscribed to the Main internet marketing discussion and a bunch of other forums in order to receive a daily list of new threads, but I never received a single mail (no, nothing in my spam folder either). I am using a gmail account; I already double-checked whether the email address in my profile is the correct one. Is there something I should do for the forum subscription to work properly? :confused:

Thanks in advance for any info or suggestion.

    That's not the way it works. Supposedly, it you subscribe to a thread and use the email option you will get an email when a new post is made in THAT thread.

    If you want to see everything that's being posted - you have to come and look at the sections as far as I know.

      Yep, that is the subscription to the thread [thread tools > subscribe to this thread] - then there is the subscription at the forum level which in other vbulletin forums, such as Terry Kyle's, for example, lets you have a daily (or weekly) email with all the new threads of that day (week). That's the subscription I'm talking about.

        This isn't Terry Kyle's board, so the rules are a bit different here. The only emails you will get here are those threads you have specifically subscribed to.

    I have subscribed to individual threads and always get notified when there is a new post by email.
