Signing Off for the Summer

OFF TOPIC

I've been online since 1997. 14 years. I've never, ever in all that time taken a break from the Internet.

It's been an exciting ride. So much as has happened over all that time.

But now the time has come to take a break. A much needed break.

After much consideration (and behind the scenes planning) I've decided to take a 10 week break. That seems like such a long time, but of course, it isn't.

However, after thinking about it, making plans and taking action, I have decided to take a much needed vacation from all things online. And you know what - now that the time has come, I'm really looking forward to it.

When I check back in September, I hope to find lots of new and exciting things. Well, some new things and and hopefully, a bit of the old excitement that was there in the beginning. And lots of new WF members, and lots of 'old' ones, too!

Time will tell. Tomorrow I head out with my trusty kayak - going to tackle some serious local whitewater. Then it's visitors time, and then a nice, long, cross-country ramble.

See y'all when I get back. All of you here on the forum - be good. Make lots of money. Make even more friends. And have fun. See you in the fall. (God willing.)

That's great Val! Definitely not something anyone can just do. It takes a lot of inner strength to find that within yourself after such a long time together, and more people should appreciate when people do what you do. I think the world is utterly fantastic and love kayaking as well, so I'm behind you 100%. I hope you find some great spots for it and have some enjoyable people go along for the ride.
