This was a time of great turbulence in Greece, with demonstrations and riots almost daily. It is in these unsettled times that a legend has arisen, it is Loukanikos, the anarchist riot dog

    I love the music.

Is it true that the Greeks could ( before the problems ) retire at 50???

The song on the first video was "I predict a riot" by the Kaiser Chiefs. Great song, they were only about 17 when they made it.

The general retirement age in Greece is 65, although earlier retirement is provided for in professions classified as "arduous and unhealthy". That covers somewhat reasonable classifications like coal mining and bomb disposal, but also has alot of pretty weird ones like hairdressers, who, apparently, are exposed to toxic dyes, etc.

However, the number of professions where you can actually retire at 50 could likely be counted on one hand.

Of course, that doesn't make for a good news story, so the general impression is usually put out there that EVERYBODY in Greece retires at 50 (which, if you think about it, would be completely impossible anyway).

    The anarchist riot dog?

How does anyone know his (or her) political leanings??

    Thanks for the laughs.

I suspect he may actually be orchestrating the violence. Perhaps the Greek riots are a cover for the coming dog revolution; when the humans turn on each other, there'll be nobody keeping an eye on the dogs, as they finally make their move to take over the world.

I, for one, welcome our new dog overlords.
