Over the past year I've noticed a trend in numbers on the WF. Last summer it was common to see twice as many people cruising the WSO section as there were reading in the main forum.

In the past few months I noticed the ratio has been three times as many in the WSO section as in the forum. Today - it reached 4x as many.

When you add to that the increase in the number of threads about WSOs - going to run one, how do I run one, what do I sell, what WSO works for you, what is the best WSO, etc....seems to be a trend to a purely retail platform, doesn't it?

What's funny to me is that so many threads in the main section about "how to make money soon" and "this isn't working" are posted by members who commonly post "just bought it" in one WSO after another.

Not saying this trend is good or bad - but it's interesting to watch as it changes.

I haven't been keeping such close tabs myself, but the other day I happened to look at the number of Warriors in each section and the WSO section was around 1800 that day, which surprised me. The main forum was around 600 I think... well below 1000 anyway.

I have noticed that the WSO section is frequently busier than the other forums.

So you might be right about the shift to a retail forum - but I sure hope not.

It is a little concerning, if I could use that term, that very few people spend time in the Programming / Web Design type forums. Seems to hover around 60 or so whenever I have a question that needs answering. Which might explain why it takes so long to get those answers. Not enough people are looking. That's why it's tempting to just post those questions in the main forum where tons of Warriors visit, where they'll be seen. :p

It may be an actual trend, or it may have to do with a how a visitor is counted in each section. If the way the count is done in the WSO section was changed, but stayed the same in the main section, then that could skew the results.

For example, a visitor may not be someone who is viewing the section right now in real time, but within a set time frame; say 1 hour in the main section and 4 hours in the WSO section. In other words, the increased "activity" could just be an illusion.

Of course I have no proof that this is what's going on, but having a higher viewer count in certain sections could have its own advantages.

This is only one possibility, and I wanted to offer another take on it (not saying it is correct, just putting it out there).

    All the best,

What I like to watch is how many are logged in total - approaching 10k! (it was 9k+ the other morning) which is the highest I ever remember seeing. ... and always interesting to see how many are not members but 'guests'.

... sounds like a recipe for retail alright!

"What's funny to me is that so many threads in the main section about "how to make money soon" and "this isn't working" are posted by members who commonly post "just bought it" in one WSO after another."

Even funnier when you see them advertising - 'let an experienced marketer show you the (bullet proof) way' when in another you find them asking total newbie questions.

I have to say that I have bought a few WSO's lately -- one total nothing triple spaced 10 page 'idea' with no substance - (refunded) - and one really good one - however even that one has about a 20 page long sales page that repeats over over how the guy is lazy, doesn't do anything except 2 hours a week etc etc and still makes money -

... bottom line there is A LOT of work that actually needs to be done not only to set it up but to keep it up - the training is good and very detailed, but the whole premise is obviously not true.

Back to the Truth, you need to work to make money. (I knew that)

      Something else to consider.

What happens if someone opens several forums in different tabs? Do you just get counted once, or are you counted once for each forum you're in?

I do this a lot and frequently have around 3 forum pages open at a time. Of course, that doesn't mean I'm looking at them either, so if the calculation is supposed to show how many people are "viewing", there's no way it can tell.

How many of you open a page and then go back to work without closing it?

As far as the WSO Section, how many people are reviewing with the intention of posting, as opposed to viewing to buy? Those stats could be important, depending on why you're looking at the numbers.

It's kind of like when marketers view other people's sites to see what they're doing. They're counted as visitors, but how many are actually looking to buy? The only way to really know is if they buy something.

Where do I check those stats?

But it does not surprise me at all the high number of users in WSO forum. There is a large group of people NOT looking for information - they want a plug and play system to make them money.

No need to be ashamed, tt's easy to miss.

How often do you go directly to the home page and study it?

I know I don't do it very often.

Just like Patrician I really like to check how many people are logged in, and it's amazing how my eyes never EVER saw the number of people watching each sub-forum.

Just proves the old saying: we just see what we want

What is even funnier is people who are selling the 'How I got An Avalanche of Clients' asking these very questions.

The stats, if accurate, don't surprise me at all.

This market is always looking for the magic bullet...that one thing that will
allow them to spend their days on the sand and surf drinking whatever their
      favorite beverage is.

Hey, I admit it, now that I've reached the point where I can retire (worked
very hard to get there) I'd rather be doing a lot of things other than creating
products and marketing. I only keep doing it (a few hours a month) to keep
me from getting bored doing all the fun stuff (it does get old after a while
believe it or not) and to have some throw away money for my Magic The
Gathering habit. Yeah, I have a real monkey on my back since October of
last year. You should see my Ebay bill. LOL

Anyway, like I said, stats don't surprise me a bit.

Actually, I'm surprised the ratio isn't more in favor of the WSO section.

I mean after all, that magic bullet has to be in there somewhere.
