healing, but online? (Braco)

I'm in the LA area and probably stuck here for a year or 2. A woman at a nonprofit organization I help with had some nice comments today about a healing event here that just finished. She is very level headed and common sense. The charge for the event was $8. That doesn't seem to put it in the get rich quick category for the people that organized it.

I got the url with the basic info.

Braco America Events

I had never heard of the guy before. I tend to be way behind on the news. (Lack of interest.) There probably are people here who know about him and it seems he is famous in Europe.

The guy doesn't even talk onstage. He just comes out and looks at the crowd and they look at him. It's called gazing. Healing results. He does not accept donations or money for it.

It doesn't have anything to do with a religion or faith healing.

For people who can't make a live event, there is going to be a online live stream. I don't know the details but sounds like he looks into the camera and tries to make contact with people.

I just thought it would be interesting to put it to the 'bs detectors' around here. I was very dubious at first, but have a really nice impression of it now. The front page photo of the guy is spectacular.

What do you think?

    Never heard of the guy.
Looking at the website I would say he definitely is interested in money.
While he does not accept donations or money for it, he has plenty of things for your money to go to.
I'd say on a scale of one to ten, my BS meter would be overing about an eight or nine.
    But that's just me.

On one of the other pages in his Website it says, "More than 30,000 came to see Braco in the US this past Marc & up to 10,000 a day see Braco in Europe."

Oaky, let's do the math. At $8 a person, times 30,000 people in one month, that's $240,000. If two thirds of that goes toward expenses, Braco made $80,000 in a month.

Hmmm, not bad for doing nothing other than staring at an audience... a nice gig if you can get it.

Does he heal? I don't know. But if his audience feels better after receiving a Braco stare, then the placebo effect is at work, and maybe people are "healing" themselves.

      I'll go with that
But even if that is the case, I don't think it's a bad thing.
I'm pretty sure I healed my G.E.R.D. by no longer excepting it.
My original thought was "I can't afford to treat you anymore so I can't have you anymore".
I know that sounds lame, but I have no other explanation as to why I don't have it anymore. Other health problems that I had and cured I know what I did, like the vinegar for arthritis.
Maybe these people are going to see him, convinced that him gazing at them will heal them.
By just charging 8 bucks it may re-enforce the believe that he is on the level and if a person isn't healed they don't feel like they where ripped off.

This guy was in South Beach this past January and the newspaper had an article about it.

He charges $8 per session and a lot of people were going back for more than one session. He also sold a lot of merchandise: jewelry, books, CD's and DVD's.

I think the real payday here is the few in the audience who will offer him vast sums to do private healing.

The $8 is a cover charge. The real money flows from those desparate enough to try anything.

          More then likely.
Heck you could say a goat staring at you will heal you and some people will believe it and swear it happened to them.

This is the kind of thing that makes me think I'm really trying too hard. I need to give this some serious thought.

Maybe I should stop being so moral and starting healing emotional pain through astral projection. You don't have to leave your house, just pay me $5

I mean, seriously, some of us work hard at what we do, we put a lot of thought and effort into it. Then you see people like this, they make thousands of dollars just by "gazing" at people.

Hell, if anyone thinks they can capitalize on this sort of thing by teaming up with a writer then feel free to hit me up. I'm tired of working so hard.

My friend told me about someone who offered distance healing for pets. You email them a picture of your pet, and they concentrate on it and voila, it's healed. She's doing really well and is just about to put her prices up. I'm scared I'm going to be out of a job soon - not!
