Boston Pizza food is really good, whether it is pizza, pasta, salad, or other menu choices. A testament to how tasty it is would be the regulars I've seen there, most of whom are overweight or even obese.

Boston Pizza rules. I used to eat there all the time when I lived in Canada.
This might sound weird but I was just chatting with a Canadian friend about BP's yesterday on Facebook.
Freaky, I took it as a sign and created a new FB fanpage titled "Overweight Or Even Obese?"

It seems they have an American version called Boston's The Gourmet Pizza and have 3 locations in Florida.

I'm definitely going to check them out when I'm the area. The menu looks really good.

Lil drive from you, but if your up around the Boca area... check out Tucci Pizza, hands down among the best if not the best pizza I've had and that include places in NY lol. Everyone I've brought there has loved it. We go there at least once a month, and never had any issues, just top notch pizza and appetizers everytime. Their home made meatballs are incredible.

I'm usually close to Boca at least once a month so I'll check out Tucci's.

          I love pizza.

Have you tried Anthony's Coal Fired Pizza?

          Thanks!

yeh, quite a few times... before Tucci opened lol. Blows Anthony's away imo. Tucci just nails it with their crust and sauce. We usually get a pie topped with fresh artichokes, and their homemade meatballs. Their wings rock as well as the other appetizers too.

Merlyn I found a little place up in Manchester Vt. that had a wood fired stone pizza oven.
I grew up on some of the best pizza in the world, but theirs just blew me away.

I don't agree that the presence of overweight and obese people is a testament to how tasty a restaurant is. Overweight and obese people will eat just about anything.

That is very true. People who are overweight and obese are clueless about portion control. Thin and average sized people can eat whatever, but at the same time know when to stop.

BTW Boston Pizza is good and may go there again soon!

    Great...

1:20 AM and now I am friggin' hungry.

BTW - I realize Boston Pizza is in Canada, but being from New York you would never find a place that has "Boston" and "Pizza" together in the name.

The States also has it, but it is called "Boston's The Gourmet Pizza" in the United States and Mexico.

I was shocked to discover that a Canadian company can hold a tradmark to an American city, but Boston Pizza owns the trademark to "Boston" in Canada. Call me stupid, but I'll have to confess that I had always figured that Boston Pizza started in Boston, until I learned differently researching for this thread. Not so -- it started in the Canadian city of Edmonton (!):
Boston Pizza - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
    Trade-mark dispute

In 2002, Boston Pizza commenced a lawsuit against Boston Market in the Federal Court of Canada over the trade-mark use of the word "Boston" in Canada.
So, is someone in Boston going to start an "Edmonton Pizza" chain and own the trademark to "Edmonton" in the USA?

I have never tried Boston's Gourmet Pizza, but I have been in NY and eaten that delicious pizza. One question. Does anyone have any idea why the crust won't come out as good for pizzas in the South? We have people that came from NY and opened up places here, and they say they make the pizza the same way they did in NY, but it doesn't come out the same. The feeling is it is something about the water that is different and this is why they cannot duplicate the NY taste. What are your thoughts?

I've heard that it's the water, also. I guess other places don't have as many dead bodies as the Hudson River does...

Naw Kurt. It's more a case of NY water not having all the pesticide run off in it's aquifers from the orange groves.

NYC has some of the cleanest waters of any major city. They get it from upstate (near where I live in fact) through a 60+ mile aqueduct - which leaks millions of gallons of water per day...

History of New York City's Water Supply System

        Here's a map:

New York City's Water Supply System

I live about 15 miles from the Croton watershed. The other ones further upstate have fantastic routes for very scenic motorcycle rides

The Hudson DOES have a lot of floaters though - back in 2002 I lost a friend in the Hudson when the current took him under. He was found over a week later 12 miles from where he went in.

        Happy drinking.

Mike....Tell it to someone that doesn't live a couple of miles from the Continental Divide.

And sorry to hear about your friend. But consider there's been plenty of humor about situations that have affected me personally, and I don't see a need to point them out when something is clearly in jest.

Boston Pizza is good, but I think I'd probably only eat there once a year or so. Their portions are ginormous and I think I'd be growing wide quickly if I ate that kind of food regularly. But I have to say this, I've never had pizza there before. I think I ordered lasagna last time..
