Anyone see this on the news? Under a temple in India they keep finding more rooms, each filled with treasure.

Right now, the estimates are there's $22 BILLION dollars (US) in gems and gold from a hidden vault they think was built about 150 years ago.

There's plenty of stories on the Net about it...Here's one:

    That's interesting

Ancient people loved to keep valuable in temple as they believe the God will take care of them. If it is true, the temple will be very rich!

This is my parents' home state. There are a huge number of temples there. I had never even heard of this one until two days ago. They should do a probe on all of them. Who knows what they would find!

        Eventually.

        Meet you there?

And the $22 billion is not the complete total. Thee are two more vaults yet to be opened. Add to it the current (declared?) wealth and the amount of donations that come in daily.

There are several more "wealthy" temples here in India. And it becomes news on many festivals every year when some anonymous person donates millions of dollars to these temples.

    Here's one of these:

"During 2007, about 104 kgs of gold, 235 kgs of silver and Rs 60 crore in cash was received by the temple through donations, he said."

I find it amazing that nobody knew that this wealth was inside of the temples. It seems like they would pass this information from administration to administration. Obviously not.

I had the same question. I wonder who didn't get the memo? How do you just forget about big bags of diamonds?

The treasure was DONATED to the temple by some king. It was no longer the state's wealth. Besides, even if the king had told his successors, the British invaded. Why would they tell the British about this?
