My husband and I are trying to figure a way I can be a SAHM with our first baby. I need to figure out a work schedule in case I have to work 32 hours a week. My mom has a daycare so my baby would be with her if I worked.

What schedule would be best when I have a newborn baby:

Monday-Friday: 9:30am to 4pm
Tuesday-Friday: 8am to 4pm (Have Mondays off)
Monday-Friday: 10:00 to 4:30pm
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday: 8am to 4pm (Have Wednesdays off)

Any ideas? If I work I have to work 32 hours to keep our medical insurance and I CAN'T work from home.

I'll pick the last one. . Having a wednesday off every week sounds fun. More bonding time with my baby!.

I think it's odd to ask strangers what your schedule should be but here goes

I would choose the tues-fri. Gives you a long 3-day weekend every week.

The split days might sound "good" - but my experience with split days is you never get into the rhythm of working and time off never seems to be enough.

My choice of 5 days weeks would be the third one. Avoids rush hour both ways.

Choose the schedule least stressful for YOU -the baby will be fine with it.

If I had a baby I don't think I'd ever have to work again. Pretty sure I could live off the endorsements and payments for interviews, since well, I'm a man.

But I don't think that will happen given I'm screaming for a Vicadin for a hang nail thus I probably would not survive the pain of child birth.

In fact - I have it on VERY good authority (my wife) that if men were the ones having babies the human race would have been extinct a very long time ago.

and I'm not saying that because I'm 'kitty whipped' either - I honestly believe her - as far as you know......
