The Crown argued the killing was murder, noting that Walker loaded his handgun and fired 10 shots at the unarmed Hayward, hitting him five times.
He needs to work on his shooting skills.

He doesn't recall it. Might have had a blackout of some kind when he did it.

Interesting defense that he doesn't remember doing the murder.

And now after he going to be free to unite with the daughter.

    What a story.

Shot with a shotgun 5 times????? of 10 attempts??

I wonder what really prompted him to do what he did??

Did he really have to kill the guy?

    Amazing.

    What a world...

Well, shotguns aren't really made to kill people. In theory, if you were far enough away, even "perfect aim" may just leave the target badly hurt, etc... I was once in a police car. I ran out of gas, and he was nice enough to take me to the gas station. He had a shotgun in a special fixture right in the center of the car, so it was CLEAR that it was something the police station wanted him to ALWAYS have ready! I asked him what it was for, and he said that it was used in places like apartments where a dangerous subject might have to be subdued because it was less likely to hurt people on the other side of the wall.

Shotguns are usually used for things like flocks of ducks where you can practically simply shoot and bring down ducks. Even THEN, it might not actually KILL them. But ducks are smaller than people so the shot is more likely to kill them than it would a person. A gun would be FAR more difficult to use for ducks.

The article says HANDGUN though. We don't know the circumstances. HECK, a few might have been warning shots. There may have been a struggle, etc... And a bullet won't kill if it doesn't hit a good spot, so 5 isn't that out of line. the body is easier to hit than the head, so he may have shot THERE.

Apparently, the "boyfriend" drugged his daughter. If so, I can understand how he can be very angry.

      heysal,

Apparently, this happened in Canada. Their laws may be different.

It is weird but I can sort of believe it, holding a gun amidst a potent combination of rage, fear, and panic. Often, after someone has a fit of rage, they look back at it in confusion over what happened.

She was 16 and he was 24? I wonder why he didn't just report that to the cops and let them go pick her up. She was a minor. The guy could have gotten pressed with sexual assault charges all over the place for having a minor there - especially if it was against the parent's wishes.

I don't quite understand this one at all.
