It sometimes amazes me how lax people are with some of their info on the internet. I was doing some web design for a company and I sent them an email asking for their various passwords and such that I needed, but I accidentally sent it from the wrong email, one that is associated with a totally unrelated website. But they still just sent me all their info and never questioned or likely even noticed the email difference even though it was from a completely strange email address. This was fairly sensitive info that they definitely would not want given up. Obviously it is safe with me, but it was a display of some incredible foolishness if you ask me.

It amazed me.

I have always wondered this aswell, I have fallen for phishing only once but it was a good believable thing so It wasn't my fault, but still since I have seen many phishing attempts and I just laugh at how petty some of the are and how badly arranged and organized they are, yet I bet people still enter their detials..

Maybe they recognized your name, and since you were following up with conversation that built on previous communications, they reasoned you were you.
