Got mine today off Ebay. $15 bucks plus $5 for shipping. Not such a big deal for you people that have only been out of High School a few years. I've been out 47 years. Yep, East Lansing High class of 1964. No clue what ever happened to my original. Only down side. It was from an estate sale of a kid I sat next to in Math class. He was a year younger. Still cool to see people I grew up with. Great picture of my first girlfriend. Saw her a few years back. She was the size of a Corolla. Dodged a bullet there.

    East Lansing? Spent my entire school career in Flushing (just W. of Flint). I have fond memories of the protests in E. Lansing during my high school years (69-72). While I own two or three of my high school year books, I've been enjoying meeting up with some of my old classmates on FB and getting to see what they look like now and where their lives led them.

    Anyhow - awesome find, Thomas. Enjoy it.

    Some of my class mates have done very well. Others are just off the grid. I know exactly where Flushing is. My Dad had a business over in the thumb. I was born in the "Middle Of The Mitten". A couple of years ago I found a really cool lady who grew up not 15 miles from me. We are only about 100 days apart in age. Through Facebook we've gotten to know each other and I'm now part of her extended family. Kids, Grand Kids and even 2 Great Grand Kids. Our Mom's shopped in the same stores in a little community of Alma. We wonder if we ever passed by each other.

    Memory Lane is a cool place.

    'Back in the day' things were very different both internally and globally speaking.

    There is truly a reason why they are called 'the good old days'.

    I have gone to a few high school reunions and they were on one hand fun but on the other a little depressing for me for various reasons. I am not sure where my yearbook is but the last reunion they made a recreation in paperback and I know I bought it. It is here someplace.

    Anyway - one of my favorite movies seen at least 10 times and always fresh is 'Splendor in the Grass' - the title and premise comes from this poem.

    What though the radiance
    which was once so bright
    Be now for ever taken from my sight,
    Though nothing can bring back the hour
    Of splendour in the grass,
    of glory in the flower;
    We will grieve not, rather find
    Strength in what remains behind;
    In the primal sympathy
    Which having been must ever be;
    In the soothing thoughts that spring
    Out of human suffering;
    In the faith that looks through death,
    In years that bring the philosophic mind.
