Reporting Junk mail? A joke?

I always click the button "report junk mail" when it is.

Does not seem to stop spammers.

So whats the deal?

Must be worth the profit if they keep doing it, and the penalty must be negligible.

So are we just waxing ourselves with the report button?

How bout the FTC going after outright scammers and quit nickle and dime'ing marketers with technicalities? Probably because scammers don't have money or pay fines.

Does reporting spam help?

    Actually - I've gotten so little spam this last week or so that I'm starting to wonder if some major spam ops got busted or what. Over the last few months my email box has been nailed pretty hard and my spam box is just loaded. Suddenly almost nothing. Not complaining at all. Just was so abrupt that it was really an eyebrow raiser.
