2 months ago we made reservations at an oceanfront hotel on the beach.

Check in date is Friday. Irene is supposed to hit the hotel head-on as a category 3 hurricane with winds of 120+ MPH on Saturday morning..........

Speechless.

    Storm seems to be making a bit of a northeast turn - does that help you?

    My son was disappointed earlier this month when the other potential hurricane fizzled out. They had rented a house on the beach in S Carolina and were planning a hurricane party. He flew into hurricanes for 16 years and I think he misses them.

    Myrtle Beach, the hotel we stayin at is 20 feet away from the pier. literally an "oceanfront" room.. LOL i really dont wanna be that close when this thing hits.

    and yea, now people are saying the carolinas MIGHT NOT be the first to get hit - so hopefully it changes direction and we can go.. if not i'll probably get the $ back from that, and take a road trip up to OH to visit the family

    yea we changed the dates.

    was supposed to check in yesterday, but we switched to check in tomorrow.

    irene is already past SC so it will be ok
