Wow. I yearn to be able to just read books somewhere nice and quiet and lazy, all chores handled by others. If you want fiction, I recommend short stories by American writer O. Henry. Non-fiction, "The Millionaire Mind" is an interesting read. Philosophy: "Science, Order, and Creativity" by David Bohm and F. David Peat

If you are looking for something more serious I highly recommend you to read "Unlimited Power" by Anthony Robbins.. It will blow your mind

I can't recommend this book highly enoughI can't recommend this book highly enough . It's one of the most gripping, impressive and fascinating "science books" for "non-scientific readers" that I've ever read (and this is saying something).

It took me a long time to read it because I found its central premise a little hard to believe, but that was my fault and my mistake. It's all true.

I'd suggest anything by Ayn Rand.. not to convert you to her school of thought, but merely to give you some food for thought. There are interesting ideas in there for any business man.

Most recently I've liked a number of books by Clifford Pickover, a prodigious and often quirky but thought-provoking writer on a wide variety of science topics:

Archimedes to Hawking: Laws of Science and the Great Minds Behind Them
The Math Book: From Pythagoras to the 57th Dimension
The Physics Book: From the Big Bang to Quantum Resurrection
Calculus and Pizza: A Cookbook for the Hungry Mind
The Loom of God: Tapestries of Mathematics and Mysticism
      The Stars of Heaven

I've read these in the last little while and enjoyed them:

The Drunkard's Walk - How Randomness Rules Our Lives by Leonard Mlodinow
    11/22/63 by Stephen King
The Greatest Show on Earth - The Evidence for Evolution by Richard Dawkins

I just started reading "Annoying - The Science of What Bugs Us" by Joe Palca. So far, so good.

I'm a fan of the old classics (ex. Wuthering Heights)...the only new books I read are biography type books.

I would recommend anything by H. L. Mencken, a very entertaining writer, and a master stylist of the American language.
