Hi,

I just thought it would be interesting to know which careers, professions or otherwise people would be undertaking or think they would be undertaking if they weren't doing Internet marketing full time or most of the time?

I feel this would also be interesting, because you'll get to see what professions and skills internet markerters have other than IM.

Looking forward to reading some replies.

I'd probably be working at some miserable job I hated. I am glad to have come across this way of making money.

I would do what I do now - market my businesses. Not just on the internet.

I don't even like to think about that! I'd probably be in sales somewhere, or hopefully have started my own business doing something else.

If it wasn't IM it'd be some other kind of entrepreneurial venture, like an offline business or trading..

I couldn't see myself working for someone else and making them rich, when I could be using the same skills to make myself rich.

I can see a real trend emerging here. Which is something that I suspected. It seems most people that are full time internet marketers would be doing something else entrepreneurial if they were not doing this. However I do believe there must be internet marketers out there that initially followed a profession....eg. accountant, lawyer, solicitor ect, and then didnt succeed somewhere down the line and found IM.....or maybe im completely wrong about this.

I'd still be working in my dad's company, surrounded by engineers and their mathematical mumbo-jumbo.

I like IM mumbo-jumbo better - easier on the ears.

    Well...

I actually started this internet marketing gig to fund my independent film projects. About a year ago something happened and I realized that I was really good at this thing called Internet Marketing, especially SEO.

And as I watched my "dream job" fade into the darkness I was awoken by this bright light called affiliate marketing. It was then and there that I realized that I may be a creative person, I might enjoy writing, but that I was going to use my talents in a whole new way.

If I am ever involved in filmmaking ever again it will most likely be from a marketing perspective... which I am totally cool with.

That said, if I wasn't an internet marketer I would probably still managing my local subway and trying desperately to get my film ideas off the ground. Now that I know how to find an audience on the internet, however, maybe I got at least one more try left in the tank!

You're going to fail. If you're afraid of failure then you do not belong in the Internet Marketing Business. Period.

If I wasn't doing internet marketing, I would be going to college right now so that I can get ready for the rat race. I stand behind my decision to be my own boss. That's the best way to know that you will always have a paycheck come in the mail. You need to be your own boss.

I think I'd go into business consulting or something like that...

I just want to work with other business owners, want to solve problems.

Having a routine is killing me, I always have to learn something new, new challenges to master.

Even if it was related to getting a degree, I would definitely pick the entrepreneurial
lifestyle. Being successful online is just as hard, if not harder than having a full-time
job. You have to be self-disciplined and have explosive personal drive (and of course
    some luck).
