im trying to watch my health, but was just wondering, is one 3 piece kfc meal per week bad for my health?

Of course. . Did you know that their chicken contains a lot of cholesterol. A bad kind of CHOLESTEROL.. even their fries. Try putting your fries between a tissue. Then press it!. after pressing it you will see that half of your tissue is soaked in oil. Bad for your health.

Sheesh....I hope not. I'm required to eat at least TWO fried chicken meals per week just to keep my Alabama drivers license.

      Hey Dave,

Just make sure you balance it out with a pizza and a couple of double bacon cheese burgers each week.

        What happened to kfc?

Their chicken is just too oily now, I don't remember it used to be that way.

Kurt is correct. Also, don't forget to wash it down with a Diet Coke instead of regular Coke. Diet Coke negates all calories consumed.

Dave, Hooters has a Much Better View.

I like getting BW3 wings and taking them over to Hooters to eat them.
Oh, BW3 and Hooters both have beer where KFC in the US doesn't.

Your health is usually effected by repeated exposure to unhealthy things.

Watch your health, eat well, but treat yourself once in a while.

To quote a cliche - it's about moderation.

Not really. A treat or cheat meal, as the health fanatics call them is always a good thing, in moderation : ) that is!

it not bad to eat more than one 3 piece chicken in a week,
you should at least have a regular exercise program.
if you have an exercise program you can balance the
    CHOLESTEROL intake.

I'd go for once every two weeks or once every month just to be safe.

Just be sure to eat breakfast at Burger King every day and lunch at Pizza Hut every day, then you should be healthy enough to splurge on fried chicken every once in a while.

KFC is so delicious, but I try to stay away from it. Its so unhealthy, the chicken has way too much fat. Maybe you should eat it once every two weeks just to be safe lol

Eating 3 pieces of chicken once a week isn't really bad for you at all. Especially if you eat well the rest of the week, exercise, and take good supplements like garlic, omega 3's, grape seed extract, folic acid, arginine (for nitric oxide production), and hawthorn berry. These are all good for the heart and cardiovascular system. I'm not saying that you need all of these, but a couple of them definitely helps.

As for cholesterol, hype and propaganda based on the pharmaceutical industry to sell their number one type of drug, the statins. Lipitor, et al are not needed for pretty much anyone under the age of 50 and in that instance is iffy. There is plenty of research out there by medical doctors, universities, and scientists against the fact that cholesterol is as bad as posed by the pharma industry. What is really bad is trans fat and your triglyceride levels which are the saturated fat levels in the blood. Those along with toxins such as cigarette smoke and alcohol ware what damage artery walls, not the cholesterol. You require both types of cholesterol as both have their functions to play in everyday function. Look it up, it's there.

once a week is fine, especially if you're healthy the rest of the week
calories in-calories burned=weight gained or weight lost
if you're trying to lose weight check out fitday or dailyburn or some other calorie calculator site to help keep track, also of how balanced your diet is for health reasons. I've found it very helpful.

google-ing it, a 3 piece kfc meal is about 1220 calories (ouch). Depends on your build but say on average if you're an adult male you burn around 2000 calories a day just being awake (not even with exercise)... kfc fried chicken is high sodium and bad fats so not a good idea to eat every day. If you get the kfc grilled chicken instead and skip fries its not bad though.

Regardless, one day a week of eating whatever you want is fine and probably a good idea for impulse control the rest of the week, just don't do it every day.

I wouldn't be worried as long as your working out, I consider something like that a "cheat meal" which is perfectly fine if your bulking. I wouldn't make a habit out of it if your cutting. More importantly what is the rest of your food intake like during the week?

I don't eat much fast food, but if I do... Wendy's Spicy Chicken mmmm

I've seen that in the UK, a meal has in average 3 pieces of something (wings, crispy strips, or whatever). Is that enough?. Where I'm from, a meal contains at least 5 pieces, even the "savings menus" consist of 5 delicious, cholesterol-injected, mouth watering, KFC pieces.

Just soak in white vinegar and coat your chicken with raw ginger covered in wasabi.

This will lower the amount of chicken you eat and cravings.

This is a very open question and from the information given, cannot be answered. Indulging once in a while such as eating kfc once a week is okay and as a personal trainer I may even recommend it if it will help you eat healthier the rest of the week. The main aspect of eating healthy is that you don't consider it a sacrifice. If you sacrifice all the things you love, then you will inevitably "fail" and relapse to your old ways. If eating kfc once a week keeps you on track, then eat kfc once a week. But hopefully that is not combined with taco bell, jack in the box, mcdonalds, etc.
