My 1.5 year old son is a hacker

Hi gang,

I was trying something on my old computer, and I left the room for a few seconds.

When I returned, I saw him smacking on the keyboard.

Somehow he managed to flip everything upside down on the monitor. The start button is now on the upper right hand side of the screen, and all the icons are upside down too.

When I move the mouse to the left, the cursor goes right. When I move the mouse down, the cursor goes up.

I know, flip the monitor upside down. I've heard that one already.

Anyone know how to really solve the problem?

Should be able to put the cursor somehow over the toolbar area, and while holding down the left mouse button drag it back to the bottom of the screen.

      David,

Don't listen to Ken... He's just trying to screw you up even more... I think your initial gut instinct was the best solution:

    Thanks guys,

Ken, I tried that, but the icons are still upside down. But I think you are right in thinking its somewhere in the windows set up. When the computer boots up, everything is fine until XP loads up.

I'll try safe mode, then one of those "go back in time" deals for computers. the computer has been unplugged, so there should be a good restore point.

lol we were doing that at computer science classes just to see the face of our teacher lol.
You can solve it just by using your keyboard , go to control panel from start menu then find the monitor setting or something.

If you want to do it with the mouse turn the monitor upside down but turn the mouse upside down too so they will work together well.

It is probably in your display settings. Right click (left click now?) or check control panel.

I thought it was not solved...I may suggest trying to ask your 1.5 year old son

The best way always is restarting the PC and press F8 and select the last known good configuration.

    Thanks Guys.

    Ross, your solution worked.

Harvey, that's some humor you have there. You should get it checked out by a doctor.

Gee - I use firefox and there is an "undo" button in the "Edit" menu. Of course, I've never had a kid work on my computer before - dog nose and paw errors are usually reversible via "undo" though. Trust me on that one.
