How are you all? I feel like I've been away for eons. A couple of weeks ago I got diagnosed with Lyme Disease and have been in and out of MD's offices and taking stomach ripping antibiotics.

I'm having a ton of issues recovering from it and as such I've had to put all my IM activities on hold and outsourced my writing. This really sucks

I've had this disease for over 6 months and never knew it. I encourage if you've been having strange symptoms to get checked out and tested for it. I am glad we caught this early enough I have a good chance of recovering.

Hope to see you all around soon.

Getting well takes time. You may not feel great right now, but in a few weeks you probably will have forgotten how miserable you were feeling. Get well soon.

OMG Charlotte, that can not be fun. For 6 months! Oooo, what are the strange symtoms?

Our house is in the woods, and the area is infested with deer. They carry ticks. I am constantly checking our dog. Flea medicine seems to repel ticks too. Nah, I'm not going to put flea meds on my neck.

Charlotte, I hope you get feeling fine real soon. My thoughts are with you.

Sorry to hear this... As someone who deals with a chronic illness I know how hard it can be. But it does get better as you learn more about what you're dealing with and how to adjust.

Hope you're feeling better soon! Rose

    Welcome back Charlotte.

My brother-in-law's best friend also came down with Lyme. It almost killed him. He finally got tired of his doctor and being sick and went to a natureopath and they got him squared away so he's okay now. I hope you go see one yourself. I've never heard of a pharm having any real effect on this one at all.

Good luck to you however you decide to treat it.

Very sorry to hear about this Charlotte and I was just wondering last week where you were, I hadn't seen you about much.

At least you're back here now and it sounds like you're on the road to recovery, though those antibiotics are no good for you in long doses so lots of those, um, what are they called - funny yoghurt drinks, are in in order .

Here you go and it explains why my brain couldn't remember the name, or spelling .

Called Lactobacillus casei Shirota, they’re named after Dr Shirota who cultivated this unique probiotic strain. These bacteria are scientifically proven to reach the intestines alive where they top up and support the beneficial bacteria already there.
      Get well soon Charlotte.

Aw thanks for the love guys and girls my symptoms were nothing I paid too much attention to until I got my diagnosis. I had been getting excruciating pain in both ankle joints in the morning when I got up that would dissipate after 5 minutes. My migraines started to come back and I had (still have!) trouble remembering how to do simple tasks. I attributed it to getting older but apparently it's all symptomatic of Lyme. The only reason I got tested was I got stung by a bee and presented with a huge bullseye rash. Yuck.

My GP gave me antibiotics for 21 days and then said you're done. However, I am staying on top of things by seeing a specialist in Lyme. She does both Western medicine and holistic treatments which is nice. And get this, there is more than one disease you can get from ticks. Super gross. And I am taking a stupid amount of probiotics to keep things moving along which is good because I would probably be weighing about 10 pounds by not being able to eat anything
