Why are we all so darned hungry?

You can't come into this forum very often without seeing food threads. Why do we think so much about food? Why are we so hungry? Is it the electric hook-up that does it? I just got online a half an hour ago after absolutely gorging on anything and everything in the fridge - and I am already hungry again - and there's another food thread in here already. What the hell? Were you eating or thinking about eating before you read this? Bet you are now. Are we under mind control in here to fatten us for the kill or what?

No Sal, you are thinking waaaay to deeply into this... It's quite simple, it's imprinted onto our genes. If we don't eat, we die. Simple, ain't it?

It might be imprinted in YOUR jeans, but I keep slim despite. Yes we have to eat to live - but HOW MUCH? Not as much as this place wants to make me want to, that's the fact, Jack....er Jared.

I ALWAYS eat the cookie dough - I am fearless (and I LOVE COOKIES)

As far as your tight jeans - not only merci but encouragement. We all know you are less likely to reproduce if you wear real tight jeans. The world can Eat Cookie dough and be free!

See what I said - eat, eat, eat, eat -- doesn't matter if it's celery or cookie dough or edible underwear (oops, where'd that come from?) - it's eat, eat, eat, eat.

Oh wow - just when I'm so happy that I gained 7 lbs - by eating much more food than I wanted.

      Maybe I need a worm!

Back to reality, the real reason is all our "food" has all the nutrients processed out of it.

I have always been a little on the extra thin side so I didn't
mind a few pounds when I quit smoking, BUT only a few. I'm
now on the "Wal-Mart Diet". Just walk around that place
and observe the epidemic of obesity sometime. If that doesn't
encourage you to learn to eat better, nothing will.

      Thomas -

Good point. When I moved to my current location I was shocked at how many people were seriously overweight here. Looking at the content of their carts in the checkout line - and watching them load a plate at a buffet - it isn't hard to see how they got that way.

What is sad to me is the number of children here who are seriously overweight.
