I don't know how,but my yahoo e mail was hacked.My friends and all my contacts get an e mail from my address to send me money because I am lost in London and I lost also my credit cards and phone and all my money.Now...I don't understand the reson...I don't keep any important information in my e mail..and how stupid can be to respond to this kind of e mail...I mean..I have no credit cards,phone or money,but I have pc and internet?????

    The person that hacked your account is just hoping that they can play off your loved ones' emotions. If even one person in your contacts doesn't have all the bulbs burning in their chandelier, that means they won. Also, I'm sure you're not the only one that was hacked that day.

      All you need to do is change your password, then send me half the money we begged

      You can get programs to find yahoo and msn passwords, others offer a little more security

        That happened to me on Gmail, with the same email going out. I changed to a very complicated password, but shortly after that my Paypal account was hacked for $140 from Europe! (The two accounts had similar original passwords.)

        My advice is to change all your passwords NOW! And make them crazy long!

        Fortunately Paypal caught the fraudulent use and I got the $$ back, but it sure was a hassle. Good luck!

    Had exactly the same thing happen to my Yahoo acct. Same story was sent to my address list, with same request to wire money. Caused quite a mess.

    Not sure how to protect against this other than very strong passwords and change them regularly, as I do now.
