Does anyone else hate Facebook?

Marketing is great on there but I mean actually using Facebook for keeping in touch with old friends, etc.

I hate it. It really makes me want to stab myself in the eyes a bit more each time I log on. I would be here for years trying to explain the reasons WHY I can't stand it.

/short rant

Probably have point on that man..Sometimes other uses only facebook for searching or looking to their old classmates or friends or whatever?
But for business it only causes some etc. in their home so deffinitely it's not good for business.

They are slowly turning it into myspace.

      Things have changed BIG time.

I'm back and forth, it's cool to see old pics and all that and read entertaining or thoughtful posts, but why is it that the same people post the most mundane stuff ALL day long. "I'm doing laundry, I'm making a sandwich, my dog is playing with a ball" Yikes.

I am with you on that. FB is great for marketing but I can;t stand it for keeping in touch with people. One of the worst parts for me is the tagging feature for checkins. Why does everyone I ever knew need to know where I am every minute...

Yep - I quit back at the facial recognition software expose'. After that they came up with some new privacy options (but not about facial recognition).

... and the reason I gave is 'I don't feel safe'.

... and the goodbye I got was 'we will keep your account just as it is if you ever want to come back' - It was not comforting to know you can't be deleted easily and forever if they get hacked you are vulnerable - whether you are active or not.

After the fact someone posted here 'be sure to delete all your information before you quit' - I didn't really have much info there but I almost want to go back and check and then quit again.

It's scary that people are putting their birthdays and pictures of their kids on there. Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farm. They don't have a clue about the intrusion and privacy invasion (and maybe identity theft and stalking).

The only thing it has going for it is it is not as spammy as Twitter (yet). Those people at Twitter are really Twits - 8 ads a day all in a string, how much more unsociable can you get? Obnoxious.

Note: I do have Skype and Yahoo Messenger because sometimes it is the only way to get my son's attention. YM got corrupted and so I had to reinstall it. I got the new version and guess what - your comments can be public just like you guessed it, Facebook.

I was horrified for a minute when I saw some of my contacts and all their conversations, thinking that all my private conversations with my son are public to my other contacts.

However it has an opt-in for that - the opposite of Facebook where you have to know to opt-out.

    Yeah, I HATE Facebook.

It does seem to be getting worse and worse. It's almost like people think they can type things they normally wouldn't say. I really only use it as a way to contact people I need to contact right away. Other than that I don't care what other updates people post.. no one cares about your cat having a bad poop day. lol

I am not a fan of facebook and only use it for contacts with family and close friends. I must say that facebook, like it or hate it is a great place to create backlinks and promote your business as it's alexa ranking is #2.

Funny, I been telling my misses for years I couldn't stand facebook. I never liked the CEO, his comments before he was famous, mocking users for signing up to his crappy site, calling them idiots for giving him their personal info etc...laid the groundwork. The fact they abuse users privacy to the fullest and actually declared war on it, doesn't suprise me in the least bit. I like the facebook cookie that tracks you even when you logout. But let the idiots flock to it, how can they resist? every single company has jumped on the bandwagon, some are even making facebook logins, the same login to their site. I refuse to use any site that does that. Screw facebook "passports". Everyone acts like facebook is pure gold, what have the done besides a stupid website? nothing, yet they're valued to be a bazillion dollars...whatever, people are gonna do what they're gonna do.

It's a like/hate thing with me. Personally, I like to call it F***Book since it has way too many changes too many times. It seems that once they change it up it's already outdated. If it wasn't for the fact that I have clients and some friends on there, I would more leave it than take it.

Yeah, I kinda dislike Facebook more and more now. It gets so annoying at times and their interface is not that user friendly at all. There are so many things missing that I can do on some other social networks (like create a community and actually have the ability to post different threads). In overall I would love to use another social network. But I can't as most of my friends are still using F.B...

Like so many other people have said, it's really a love/hate relationship. What gets on my nerves though is my family and friends that I grew up with are 5 states away, so Facebook is the only way I can keep in touch with them.

But every time I log in, they are doing some crazy new layout or settings. They try to pick the updates that I want to see from people, instead of showing me all of them. I know Facebook likes to think they know what's best for me (and everyone else), but they really don't.

The only thing I worry about when they change formats is what they might be doing to spy on us that they need to change the other stuff for.

But is google + going to be (or is it now) any different in terms of privacy. I mean raise your hand if you actually trust google.

I'm thinking the only way to keep your privacy online is to get the hell offline completely.
