Quoting from the bible 1 Corinthians 4-8 love is...

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. 8 Love never fails.

My 666th post on this forum.

Call me a little superstitious but I had to make sure this post of all posts was talking about good stuff.

Getting back on track, what does love mean to you?

Please start off your replies with...

Love is...
#love #what is love

    Love is The Holy Spirit.

    That's why It's all good.

Without It, this planet would spin off into total darkness.

    Love is...

    Keeping us alive.

It always will, but only if we let It.

    Love is... secondly:

getting your face licked by a puppy.

Love means reaching out to others, even if they do not always deserve it. Love is empowering others to make their situation better, even if it is not someone that you are directly in love with.
Love is taking a stranger into your home after a rain storm to help them dry off and have a hot meal.
      Love is time.
Love is listening to someone, even if you do not care about what the heck they are saying.
Love is holding back your anger against friends and family, even if you were done wrong.
Love is knowing what someone will want, no matter how trivial such as placing the cushions on the couch the way they want them and then doing it.

Most of all, love is finding joy in the fortunes of others, even if it does not benefit you in any way shape or form.

For those of you that think I am or am not a romantic, think that romance comes from the smallest things in life, but we live in a world where the pace is so fast that they often go without any attention whatsoever. Think about how your significant other will feel if you know what that little thing is. It may prompt a smile, even if it is just a fleeting second. It can make or break a hectic day for someone.

The same applies to small things that your children often take for granted and remember the first time they leave your home. I know, I miss my mother's home-made chicken soup more than you can imagine and it is such a small thing in life, yet it brings back such strong memories that I do not get unless I take a long trip back to the nest.

Love is the overall appreciation for things in life that you often take for granted. When we get on the web, we often forget that there is a face, a human being behind the monitor on the other end of a communication. In fact, the most annoying phone solicitor that calls you during the day or during dinner is a human being just doing a job. Even if you are not interested, TRY to be nice! It could be worse, your life could have put you in the same position, but you decided to empower yourself.

Empower yourself and share it with others and YOU will truly find love in forms that you may never have known to exist!

Love is one thing that can make you still moving and fighting for life. Sometimes its hurt but most of the time its the feeling you always wanted to keep and appreciate.

    Hmmm.

Am I the only one who read this thread title and immediately thought:

    "Oh baby, don't hurt me
    Don't hurt me no more
    Oh, baby don't hurt me
    Don't hurt me no more"

while picturing two idiots bopping their heads to the side?

I guess it is just me.

Love is a wildly misunderstood although extremely desirable malfunction of the heart which causes the heart to race to an unknown yet highly coveted place, weakens the brain, causes palms to sweat, causes eyes to sparkle, breathing to momentarily pause with great expectations, brings cheeks to a rosy glow, starts blood pressure to rise and lips to pucker..

Basically there are three types of love.

      1) Eros love - known as "erotic love" Man and women, know what I mean nudge, nudge!

      2) Philos love - a love based on friendship between two people.

      3) Agape - unconditional love

The third and highest type of love is "agape", or unconditional love.

Agape love is above philos love and eros love. It is a love that is totally selfless, where a person gives out love to another person even if this act does not benefit her/him in any way. Whether the love given is returned or not, the person continues to love (even without any self-benefit).
