Bloc Party - Mercury
Bloc Party is another English rock band from Essex, and as you can probably guess, they are the subject of todays modern music lesson. Formed in Essex, England in 1999, they released their first album Silent Screams in 1995, to much critical acclaim.
In 1997 their follow up album A Weekend in the City peaked at number 2 and included the hit single Prayer:
