These days it seems as though the social networking world is exploding out of control. there are probably close to 50 of these sites with the biggest being Facebook and Twitter. How much success are people really having with these networking sites at building a business? I have not had much at all and do a lot of seo writing which, by itself gives me good results. Yet, I am wondering if there is something I am not doing with Facebook and Twitter that I am overlooking?

If anyone out there has really thrived from the social networking world, let's hear about it. I know I could use the help as I see it could be a powerful tool if used right for online marketing.

I'm just getting into Facebook with IM, I'm like you and have relied on SEO writing and content creation. We'll see how it goes...

I see a couple friends on Facebook who use it perfectly. One is a photographer, and the other a great artist. I've talked to both of them about it, and they say they pretty much get ALL their customers from Facebook.

If you have a passion, a clear direction, and no worry about sharing that with a bunch of "friends" every day, it's a no-brainer. People refer you and what you do like mad!

Went in and out about 1yr ago. I found 2 issues good and bad. The things that seemed to generate most interest were the game apps e.g. Farmville and products related to them as affiliates. The rules are tighter now so it is a liitle more constrained. My problem at that time was managing the cash flow , the clicks came too fast so you have to be alert when something takes off.
