In a recent conversation, the topic of US and China came up. I mentioned that now there is a new generation of Chinese kids getting fat on junk food in US fast food restaurants now in China. The other person said, yes, but now almost everything Americans use or wear is made in China.

You say that as if you think that our fast food contains the only toxins in the Chinese environment? Fat isn't the matter of too many calories that people are led to believe it is -- it's a matter of the sh** they are putting in food and exposing us to in our environments are breaking down the body's ability to burn fat so we store it instead - right along with the toxins that do further damage inside of fat cells and once released again into the system. It's almost reached the level of being a form of biological warfare at this point.

Who's screwing who up? Hummm....lets see - we send toxin ladden food to them -- they send us back toxin laden foods. Seems like a vicious cycle of idiocy to me. Guess it's chicken and egg - who sent the first poison to who?

You should have said, "Cool story bro." and moved on with your life. Sounds like you took it personally like a true patriot. But I have to warn you it's not a game of checkers here in Asia, it's a game of chess.

I don't know why you are asking, who's messing up who? Or who's messing who up like it's some kind of competition between nations. Do you really think nations were designed to last forever by their forefathers? The forefathers weren't thinking that far ahead, they had other pressing issues hundreds of years ago. I don't think George Washington had the foresight to imagine American owned fast food companies feeding another nations kids till their obese. Since when is making a profit a crime?

Money doesn't wear a flag on the shoulder. I am sure McDonalds in China is staffed by Chinese people. And the McDonalds I live in is staffed by Filipino people. Even the managers are local.

American companies go to China because it's cheap outsourcing. If Americans didn't buy "Made in China" than those products wouldn't exist.

So no, no one is messing anyone up. Everyone gets bent over the proverbial table equally to get turns getting paddled. Or in this case, force fed fast food and chained in a sweat shop.

Don't worry, tomorrow there will be a new generation of Chinese kids playing with "Made in America" toys and American kids will still be fat like me. ;p

I don't buy a lot of fast food or ready made at the deli or boxed from the shelf. Actual fast food purchases are few. We do enjoy a few things but prefer to eat home cooking.

What does concern me is the additives that are given to animals and what part of that makes it into our food chain right here that we can't opt out.

As for purchasing American made products, try and find much of anything that isn't either made overseas or of components we made. What I miss most are the dependable quality products we used to have.
