At the end the gal is asked if she wants to hear her husband say something, and then you just hear three chuckles. I'm guessing the husband is thinking something like, "Honey, will you bring me a beer?"

    Seriously though, that's pretty cool.

How come she doesn't have the stereotypical voice of a person that has been totally deaf for her life?

Deaf people often learn how to speak out loud, but she seems to do so way better than most.

From what I have heard, at least the GREAT majority of those that never heard speech have a limited way of speaking. She sounds NORMAL! She sounds like someone that may well have not lost her hearing until after 10. And when I say "never heard", I mean AT ALL. There are plenty that don't hear well, but still do OK, and you would never know they had a problem.

Have you ever tried to read a deaf persons lips? You know, when they SIGN, but try to move their lips so you can figure out what they are saying if you don't understand sign? A LOT of times, the lip movement is WRONG, and more a hindrance. They clearly don't even know how to talk.

I'm a sucker for this emotional stuff... and this one really made an impact. Wow, wow, & wow. No way I could imagine how that feels.

I have a 51 year old neighbor who is deaf, 100%, since childhood. His speech is immaculate. His vocabulary is wonderful. You would never know by listening to him. I wonder if he's ever considered this sort of (treatment/therapy/cure (??)...

I will definitely show this to him. Thanks for sharing!
