My wife has been checking out homes in the area.
There are a ton of foreclosure properties.
    We've looked at some $100,000 + homes for $30,000.

3 in particular caught my eye.
    1 sits on a 3 1/2 acre wooded lot.
    Another is lakefront.
And another has a nice in-ground pool.

Congratulations, I think. I couldn't live there - but Arizona looks good in the winter. Starting to think I want 2 bases - North in summer and South in winter. I hate snow, but don't like 120 in the summer either.

2 bases would be optimal, of course.
There is a possibility that our youngest daughter and her husband could
      get our current house.
But, either way, between her, her sister, my brother, and my wife's sisters,
we'll have plenty of options for long winter visits.

I don't like extreme heat either, but, I've always been a hot weather person.
When I was younger while my friends and family were getting sun-burned, I was getting tanned.

And, if it does get too hot, that's why God gave us the beaches.

Florida is beautiful. You picked the right time of year too. I don't blame you for wanting to get out of the snow. Good luck!
